Deployment of an Autonomous Bottom Station as Part of the “Aquaculture” Project
In 2024, as part of marine baseline studies under the “Aquaculture” project, specialists ща our company successfully deployed an autonomous bottom station (ABS) in the Caspian Sea.
The station was installed at a depth of 40 meters and is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments — a Nortek Signature 500 Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) with an additional battery pack and an Oceano R5 acoustic release for safe retrieval.
The ABS structure also includes a rubber-coated ballast weight, polypropylene rope, rigging elements, and shackles, ensuring reliable operation on the seafloor.
The station is programmed for 180 days of autonomous operation, providing high-resolution measurements of oceanographic parameters — including current profiles and wave heights.
Controls multifunctional marine terminal called "Sarzha" in the port of Kuryk, equipped with all necessary infrastructure and capacity for project implementation. It is located at the intersection of the China-Europe and Russia-India trade corridors.
